Description:

Hi - I’m Sika! I am a full, 100% Siberian Husky.  I used to live in a puppy mill.  My life was very small but now the world is my oyster.  I am experiencing life with open eyes, really beautiful ice blue eyes. The world is a new and wondrous place to me!

I’m really intelligent and am learning all sorts of things. In just a few days, I learned to sit with just a hand gesture. “Down” takes a little encouragement, but I’m getting there! My foster mom is helping me to learn to be housetrained. I have leaned what “potty” means, but I haven’t yet learned how to let you know that I have to go outside to do my business. My foster mom keeps me on a pretty strict bathroom schedule, but still have some accidents.  I will need a patient home and family that is willing to work with me on this while I learn.

As a husky, I was born to work and born to pull, so I’m working really hard on walking without pulling. We’ve been going on 2-3 mile walks to help me learn and I love these walks!
I’m really quiet, my bark is really no more than a whisper so I can’t always warn you when there is a rabbit in the yard, or someone at the door.  You won’t hear any husky howls from me!
I love to run and play with the other dogs in my foster home. The cat on the other hand…oh I’d love to be able to chase her. So my foster mom thinks that cat free home would be best for me.
I’m looking for a gentle, calm home to help me become the dog that I was born to be.  A fenced yard or someone committed to walking me at least once a day will be a must! Obedience training is strongly recommended. Huskies are known to live to be 12-14 years, so I have a lot of living and learning yet to do.

Let me know if you think that we could be best friends!

Sika's adoption fee is $325.
