Hello everyone! My name is Captain Jack. I’m not really sure what I am (besides young and handsome - wink wink ladies!) . Given my name, I thought I should start off with a pirate joke: How much did the pirate pay for his peg leg and hook? Answer: An arm and a leg!! Well, at least my foster mom thought it was funny, but I usually roll my eyes at her jokes and just ask for a belly rub. I was born with a peg-like back leg which seemed very normal to me, but honestly, was just getting in the way of my very important daily squirrel tracking activities. I am recovering now from surgery and feel like a brand new dog flying around the yard with my other fur brothers and sister. The last few months have been some of my best - getting to know my human and fur family, sniffing around the yard, and finally feeling free to run around without thinking twice! I also love the two little people in the house who shower me with hugs and kisses daily. They are lucky I’m such a patient and easy-going pup! I am also crate trained and know a few basic commands (mostly because I love the treats that come with the learning!). My foster mom tells me I remind her of an old soul - always caring about everyone else first, calm, gentle and with so much love to give.
